Rainbow Six Siege year 4 and the Operation Shifting Tides is coming to its logical ending. Year 5, which is called Operation Void Edge is about to be announced on February 16th, on the day of the Invitationals 2020 final. We even know what to expect from the Tachanka rework! With it, it will bring two new operators: Oryx and Yana and many of us are wondering what will be included in the year 5 season pass.
Recently, there was a leak of the the year 5 season pass, which detailed what will be included in the the upcoming season pass. Please see the picture below. There have been some notable pleasant and unpleasant changes.
Some of the biggest changes indicate that this time around we will be receiving 6 new operators instead of the usual 8 operators. It also occurs that the Year 5 Season pass will not come with any R5 renown credits. As a reminder, usually we were getting 600 R6 credits as a bonus with a season pack. This might turn some of the fans off. Let us know in the comments, what do you think about this!
However, if you are a bit upset, we are here to tell you that the Ubisoft community manager showed up in a Reddit post and said that there will be more free events, new gameplay features and operator/map reworks in the Year 5. Hope this will make up for the loss of our usual renown bonus. Though, please note that free, as well as paid users will still be eligible to take advantage of all of this!

As our Game Director, Leroy Athanassoff stated, “We are investing our resources on building more features and systems that will impact every player in every match”. The Year 5 Pass reflects this direction focused on features that benefit all players, not just those playing the newest Operators. It will lead to additional content for all players, such as free events, extensive reworks, and other core gameplay features. More details on why we are releasing six Operators in Year 5, as well as how that leads into Year 6 and beyond will be shared during the Six Invitational.
